God the sound of all of those things going at once is threatening.

Something tells me the Robotics revolution is going to be a lot slower than the Computer/Comms one. I’d say we’ve got at least 20 years before we get anything like a robot version of a 2010 laptop. Atoms move slower than bits. They’re not as reliable, on account of being not… binary.

My mate Chris has found that the software-freelancing business has become so slow that he’s sidelined… and set up a micro-brewery to supply local restaurants

That’s not his basement – that’s the kit.

That is the coolest thing I’ve heard of all day. All these things are connected you know. You’ve got to make “stuff”. There’s no long-term money in anything except “stuff”. Everything else is smoke and mirrors. Everything else is the sound of your national-economy breaking up the furniture to put on the fire.

Make beer. That’s my advice.
