The Crowd-Sourcing of Intelligent-Design

Well, how about some Zombies?

Almost a WAAI (Waving Arms Around Interface)… but not quite.

Fairly impressive, and also fairly tough-on-your-back, first person augmented reality shooter.

I don’t care what Bruce Sterling says, I think augmented reality is going to be huge. As I’ll rant about explain in the next post, and awful lot of people seem to be living in a permanent state of unreality anyway.

The video above does remind me (for some reason) of the Gary’s Mod phenomena, which I must confess I still don’t entirely understand, but which appears to be the engine that drives a lot of games, with the “game taken out of it”, leaving just a sandpit where people can do whatever the hell they want.

Like make Rube Goldberg Machines

As the guys says : “I’ve wasted a good portion of my life making this, so it better be worth it.”

Watch it with the sound and have the theme from Raiders of the Lost Arc stuck in your head for the rest of the day. It’s all memetics.

An ode to Cognitive Surplus.

A celebration of the inventive backwaters of the human spirit... a celebration of people who would appear to have far too much time on their hands...

A celebration of laterality.

If you come they will build it.

By knowledge shall the spheres be filled.
